The Hutto economic development corporation Reaccredited by the
International Economic Development Council

[Washington, DC] - The International
Economic Development  Council (IEDC) announces that the HUTTO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Corporation (hutto edc)
has once again been recognized as one of only 58 economic development organizations in the nation to be designated by IEDC as an Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO). Originally accredited in september 2009,  the organization was reaccredited by IEDC following 9½ successful years of activity as an AEDO member.

"The Hutto edc  and its staff, displays the professionalism, commitment, and technical expertise that is deserving of this honor", said IEDC President and CEO Jeff Finkle.

The HUTTO EDC was one of the early adopters into the AEDO program which is a comprehensive peer-review process that measures EDOs against commonly held national standards and, once achieved, it is a powerful endorsement by the largest economic development professional organization in the world.  "I, along with City Manager Odis Jones and Councilmember Anne Cano, participated in the review process and were impressed with how rigorous the process was."  Said Mayor Doug Gaul.    "With the recent announcements by the City regarding the Innovation Business Park and the selection of a developer for the downtown CO-OP Entertainment District, we should all be producing excellent results very soon." Mayor Gaul concluded.

The accreditation program consists of two phases: a documentation review and an onsite visit. Each phase is designed to evaluate information about the structure, organization, funding, programs, and staff of the candidate economic development organization.

Earning the AEDO accreditation tells the community and prospects  that the hutto edc attained a measure of excellence assuring that their trust is well placed and their business is in good hands.

The reaccreditation application speaks to the quality of the organization's volunteer leadership and the staff they employ. Mario Perez, HUTTO EDC Chairman for the last 10-years confirmed that "The EDC and City have a detailed plan for developing buildings, sites, infrastructure, and the workforce to ensure we are well positioned now and for future successes.  Recent actions taken by the City Council have provided the HUTTO EDC with the best tools we've had in over a decade and now it's time for us to deliver the result." Perez said.

Final IEDC Recommendation

HUTTO EDC, in concert with the City, Hutto Fire Rescue, Hutto ISD, East Williamson County Higher Education Center, and the Austin Chamber, participated in a successful site visit that effectively demonstrated broad community and regional support for the organization and its efforts. Therefore, the AEDO Review Team recommends reaccreditation for the Hutto Economic Development Corporation.
