Summer Weekend Hours

Summer weekend hours are now in effect for the main and Beverly Farms branch libraries. The main library is closed on Sundays, and the Farms branch is closed on Saturdays, until October 2017. Please see full hours of operation for both libraries here
July 4th Hours
July 4 Greeting
The main library and the Farms branch will be closed for Independence Day on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Both libraries will be open normal hours on Monday, July 3. 
Announcing Our New Assistant Director
We are pleased to announce the selection of our former Young Adult Librarian, Allison Babin, for the position of Assistant Director of the Beverly Public Library. Allison replaces Anna Langstaff, who became the library's new director in April. Learn more about Allison and her new duties  here
Arts Fest Pop-Up Book Sale
Arts Fest Pop-Up Book Sale
Saturday, June 17 from  10 AM - 4 PM
Sohier Room, Main Library
One day only! The Friends of the Beverly Public Library will celebrate Beverly's Arts Fest with a pop-up sale featuring books, DVDs, CDs and Friends merchandise. All proceeds benefit the library. Refresh your summer reading supply while helping the Friends support the library. Hardcovers $2, paperbacks $1, all children's books 2/$1 - cash or checks accepted. 
Reference News: Scannx Technology
The library is now offering a self-serve Scannx station that allows you to scan materials and send to a thumb drive, Google Drive, your smart phone, or your email account - all for free! It's simple to use and scans documents up to 11" x 17". Get more information here

A Family's Life During the Civil War
Monday, June 5 from 10 - 11 AM
Sohier Room, Main Library
Join Ohio folk singer Judy Cook and her husband Dennis for "Letters from the Homefront," a program highlighting letters written by Judy's Wisconsin ancestors, Gilbert and Esther (Colby) Claflin, during the Civil War. Judy will also perform popular songs of the period. This program is the final in a series of three begun in 2015. Read more here
New Learning Resource: The Stop Lyme Project 
The main library is pleased to offer a new Lyme Disease resource at the 2nd floor Reference Desk - Stop Lyme: Information for Tick-Borne Disease Prevention, Identification and Patient Care. The Stop Lyme Project is an initiative of Nahant Public Library in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Learn more about this resource here!
"Summer Sounds" Outdoor Concert Series
Wednesdays This Summer S tarting July 12
6 - 7 PM, Winter Street Plaza (Rain location: Sohier Room)
Summer Sounds, our free outdoor summer concert series featuring local musicians, returns to the main library on Wednesday, July 12. Join us for the kickoff performance with Adrienne Howard and Linda Swicker, an instrumental duo playing traditional music from Ireland, Quebec, France, and Appalachia. Learn more here.

Join us to watch anime with other fans, and enjoy free snacks!

Henna Tattoos: Tuesday, June 27 from 10:30 AM - 1 PM
Get an awesome henna tattoo that lasts up to 2 weeks! Must bring signed waiver. Visit our Teens Page starting June 1 to access the waiver.

Upcycling Workshop: Thursday, June 29 from 1 PM - 3:30 PM
*Registration required.* Make a cool project with us using unrecyclable plastic bags! Learn about plastic bag fusing and design your own item. Register here

Musical Mornings with Miz Liz: Saturday, June 10 at 10 AM. Fun, interactive music, movement and literature for kids 0 - 5 and parents/caregivers. Sponsored by the Friends of the Beverly Public Library. All welcome. 

"Build a Better World" Crafts (ages 4 and up): Wednesdays, July 5 - August 9 at 10:30 - 11:30 AM. *Drop-in activity while supplies last*

Circus Minimus: Wednesday, July 12 at 10:30 AM
From Kevin O’Keefe’s suitcase an entire circus emerges: tent, band, lights, a boisterous ringmaster, the officious Mervin Merkle, the incredible Bumbilini Family - even a runaway trying to join the circus! However, the most important performers emerge from the audience. Join us!
