Courtney Akinniyi and Emily Kolby from Bellevue College and Deb Kraft from the Bellevue School District, share the work they've been doing and some of the challenges they faced on the road to success of the summer melt campaign undertaken by the Career Pathways collaborative.
The meeting on May 25 continued with the discussion that began in January and focused on connecting data and aligning resources.


The Community Truancy Board (Bellevue School District), recipient of the 2016 Bill Henningsgaard Fund for Children is an intervention program that offers support and counseling to as many as 60 families every year.

Partner Shoutout!

An International Community Health Services (ICHS) clinic offered in partnership with Youth Eastside Services (YES) and the Bellevue School District is opening at Highland Middle School this fall.   Students will be able to see an ICHS health provider for treatment of illnesses, injuries and ongoing health problems; as well as for well child checkups and immunizations. YES' therapists will help students with issues such as depression, anxiety, family stress and substance abuse.

Best Starts for Kids  Seeking School Partners to Expand Middle School Mental Health Support
BSK developed a model helping students find their strengths to succeed: screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment or services (SBIRT). 
They are partnering with interested King County school districts to create a plan to bring SBIRT to middle schools. Up to $10,000 is available per participating middle school.

Kids Quest Museum 
Summer Camps
KidsQuest Summer Camps offer fun and learning through science experiments, arts and crafts, collaboration and exploration! Half and full day camps are available, with new hands-on projects and experiments every week. Come explore, play and learn!
Camps available for kids 3 years to entering 3rd grade.

Bellevue Essentials 
recruiting for 2017! 
The week course begins September 27th, and meets every Wednesday night, 5:30-9pm.
If you have a desire to deepen your knowledge of Bellevue city government and your own commitment to civic engagement, apply by 8/1
Tuition is $95, financial aid available.

Social Venture Partners 
Fast Pitch a
pplications are open! Due June 20th.
Tracks available for high school, university, emerging nonprofit,  established nonprofit, 
and for-profit. SVP Fast Pitch connects social innovators with those who have the 
resources to turn great ideas into reality. 56 innovators are selected to participate in a 
four-month program including pitch clinics and professional coaching
Winners receive cash grants and prizes ($500 to $10,000).

Register for "English for Work" ESL program! New student orientations will be held the week of July 10th. Classes are held in Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland as well as at the new Shoreline location. Morning and evening options are available. Classes are free!
