Somos Uno award to go to Deweys

Co-Regional Ministers in the Pacific Southwest Region, Don and Susan Dewey, will receive the "Somos Uno" Award for being an example of leadership that supports and empowers diversity within the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The award will be presented during the Hispanic and Bilingual Assembly in San Antonio, Texas July 19-22, 2012.

Every two years, the Hispanic National Pastor and the Hispanic Board select the head of a General Unit and other groups for "Excellency in Leadership". This year, for the first time, they have selected leadership from the regional expression of the Christian Church.

The stories trickle in, but members of the Justice Table are looking for a steady stream.

Task groups around hunger/poverty, women/children, immigration and care of creation are looking for the stories that illustrate the Church's commitment to justice. Read more
