A message and request from Andrea Swartz, AIA, Professor and Chairperson, Department of Architecture, Ball State University

The Department of Architecture at Ball State CAP has just finished another tremendous year of excellent work, student success, faculty productivity and alumni accomplishments.  We continue to work hard, building upon the successes from our past. Now we need your help in promoting and affirming the quality of CAP's architecture programs. For the 18th consecutive year, DesignIntelligence has put out a survey of all firms, ranking architecture programs on the basis of their ability to prepare graduates for professional practice.  The deadline for this survey is Friday, June 10, 2016; it will take approximately ten minutes of your time. CLICK HERE   to take survey.

Your participation in this survey can help celebrate the reputation of Ball State's architecture programs. For 50 years, our graduates have been excelling in the professional discipline of architecture. Please take these few minutes to complete this short survey before June 10; survey answers are confidential and go directly to DesignIntelligence. While this survey is only one reflection on our school, it is important to us, our students and alumni. Thank you in advance for your help!

Tri An Monument Design Competition

The Tri Ân Idea - In Louisville, Kentucky, a diverse group of citizens led by Yung Nguyen, an immigrant from Vietnam, has conceived this idea of a monument of thanksgiving; a place of special recognition for the tremendous sacrifices the American and South Vietnamese Armed Forces made during the Vietnam War in order to give the Vietnamese people a chance to live in freedom.

This citizen's group formed a foundation to develop this concept and to raise private funds to implement it. The foundation's name is "Tri Ân", which means "deep gratitude" in the Vietnamese language.

A site was secured in an existing park dedicated to veterans. It is in Jeffersontown, a suburb of Louisville, Kentucky. It is the Foundation's intent to fund and build the Tri Ân Monument based upon the selected design. CLICK HERE to learn more.
