AC4C takes part in IPA goes local

The Iow a Pharmacy Association (IPA) has been conducting "IPA Goes Local" discussion tables around the state, recently completing the first round of discussions in Davenport.   The sessions have been foc used around building collaborative efforts to address emerging opioid issues.

During these discussions, Officer Al Fear has been sharing his information regarding the increasing concerns around opioids and the latest on fentanyl.  One of the ways he has been collaborating with local coalitions /organizations is through connecting them to local prevention efforts.  Officer Fear, along with the help of Sue Greene with Helping Services for NE Iowa, has been assisting local communities to establish  Community Resources United to Stop Heroin (CRUSH) groups around the state.    You can check out their Facebook page at this link

After hearing the presentation, Angie As a-Lovstad, with AC4C, facilitated discussions with the attendees to develop ways they could work with others in the community to address the opioid issues.   The  groups were connect ed to new ways to get connected and consider their current efforts such as the use of the Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP).

If you are interested in more information, please contact Angie at [email protected].
