We're enhancing our systems to better serve you and your clients

This July we're upgrading our systems to offer you and your clients even better service, both now and in the future. These system enhancements include replacing underwriting and billing systems, and updating our online services. While this is a big change internally, the impact is mostly behind-the-scenes and will be minimal for you and your clients. Watch or read about the changes below.

Updates will be made Friday, June 30 at 7 p.m. through Tuesday, July 4. The login portion of our website will be unavailable during this time.

Here are some of the updates you and your customers will see:
  • Updated Agent and Policyholder Gateways with better navigation to the features used most often.
  • Improved Internet Quoting (IQ) system. The majority of IQ changes simply make the system more user-friendly, but there are a few changes you may want to be aware of, which you can read about here and watch a video about here.
  • A new billing and payments page with the ability to schedule payments and see your clients' payment history, account history and invoices.
  • As you start writing business and renewing in the new system, you'll see two different types of invoices and commission statements - one from the legacy system and one from the new. This is temporary and will only last until all policies have renewed in the new system. We will be addressing this issue in detail in our agent webinar this Thursday.
  • When a policy renews, policyholders will also see a new invoice, and may notice that they get fewer invoices as we'll be consolidating policy changes into fewer, regular invoices rather than sending one for each policy change. Register for our agent webinar this Thursday to learn more.
  • Next time a client with online payroll reporting renews, their Payroll Reporting Online system will have an updated look and a few new features. A click-through tour will be provided for policyholders after they login.
For more detailed information about these changes, click here. We look forward to these updates and are here to assist at (800) 859-5995 if you have any questions along the way.

Dividends are around the corner

We shared news this spring of our record-breaking $260 million dividend payout, and now it's time for your clients to start receiving their checks! Dividend checks will be mailed the last week of June, and policyholders can expect to receive them within the first week of July. We are proud to recognize your clients that are committed to safety in the workplace.

As you and your clients celebrate, share your stories and pictures with us on social media using #TXMDividends. We love to hear about your happy clients, and we'd love to feature them on our social networks as well.

As you use Texas Mutual Online to view dividend information after system enhancements take place, you'll see that the Dividends option is no longer located under More, but is found in the dropdown menu under Book of Business. Before July 5, it will continue to be located under More.

Safety and wellness grants coming
this July

This summer, Texas Mutual is awarding hundreds of policyholders with safety and wellness grants to help keep workers healthy and safe on the job. Your clients are invited to apply for the grants July 10 through August 11.

Wellness grants include a one-year workplace wellness program through Simply Well, and safety grants offer reimbursement of up to $1,500 for the purchase of safety equipment.

You will receive an email with more information about the grant program in early July, and your Texas Mutual clients will receive information the following week. We look forward to seeing the impact these grants will make, and appreciate your support.
Upcoming e-mod webinar for your clients

Experience modifiers are known by many names - experience modification rates, e-mods, EMRs, EMR ratings - and, for many employers, they can be a mysterious number. In our next employer webinar, we'll talk about what this rating is and how it impacts your clients.

T ips for  eliminating distractions behind the wheel

Last month we shared our commitment to creating a culture of distraction-free driving. To help you encourage your clients to develop a similar culture in their businesses, we've created a new infographic that shares statistics about the dangers of distracted driving, provides four tips for eliminating it, and offers resources as well.

You can also take a look at the Texas Mutual blog where we share more about the company-wide commitment we're making and offer additional tips for employers. Texas Mutual is also partnering with TxDOT this month to share stories from those who have lost loved ones due to distracted driving accidents. Through all these efforts, we hope to help you, your clients, and all Texans, stay safe and focused on the road.

The industry news you need

Your clients rely on you to stay in the know on industry news and updates from Texas Mutual, and we've got you covered with the  Texas Mutual Blog. For timely updates on the latest blog posts, you can subscribe on the homepage of  texasmutual.wordpress.com.

Recently on the blog, we discussed heat safety. The temperature is creeping closer to triple digits in parts of the state, but one thing to remember is that the temperature is not an accurate reflection of how you really feel outside. For your clients that have employees that work outside or in warehouses, they need to know what to do to prevent heat illnesses. Visit the Texas Mutual Blog where we discuss the hierarchy of controls to keep cool in the heat.

Policyholder Safety Alert - lessons learned from catastrophic accidents

Each month, we share real-life lessons learned from catastrophic workplace accidents so your clients can avoid similar incidents in their businesses. Policyholder Safety Alerts are shared with employers each month in our CompNews e-newsletter.

This month's Alert features stories and tips to prevent caught-in/between incidents and puncture injuries.
