JUNE 2017
Commencement 2017
Do you remember when the faculty and staff cheered you on as you approached the doorway to the Processional? It seems like yesterday, doesn't it? We thought you'd want to see that we welcomed the Class of 2017 in style.

It never gets old seeing the surprise on their faces because it exhibits familiar graduation feelings: joy, honor, gratitude.

The whole service video is here.
You can check out a copy of the order of service for Commencement here .
Iliff Says Farewell to Dr. Edward Antonio
After twenty years of exceptional leadership and teaching at Ilif, Dr. Edward Antonio is leaving to be Professor of Humanities and the Diversities Officer at Concordia College in Minnesota. He will be dearly missed by all Ilifians but we know that he will do well in his new home.

Dr. Jennifer Leath Addresses Alumni and Friends Luncheon
Dr. Jennifer Leath gave the keynote at the Iliff Alumni and Friends Luncheon. There were over forty attendees to hear her address. "Hunger & Thirst After Righteousness: Black Hunger & Sexuality" invited us to consider the intersections of hunger, race, and sexual orientation; and, the interstices in the lack of thirst for righteousness (through dialogue) in AME (and, perhaps, UMC) churches.
Larry Kent Graham

We are all aware of the many gifts and talents of Dr. Larry Graham. One of his gifts is writing. His latest book is  Moral Injury: Restoring Wounded Souls. This pivotal work  draws on his research and experiences from his seasoned career at Iliff where he gave caregivers tools to reclaim the tasks of soul care without succumbing to the temptation of moralizing. This book is an expression of his hope to encourage congregants and communities to become vital agents in a sea of conflicting moral voices.  You can order the book from Amazon here.
Alumni Spotlight
Kiboko Kiboko (MDiv, '98) visited Iliff last year to meet with students interested in ministering in the Iowa Conference of the United Methodist Church. He is featured in the photo with now recent alum Ann Henderson (MDiv, '17) and current student Mina Nau.

While Kiboko was here, he stopped by for an interview that you can read in Iliff People.
#WhyIliffiansGive

"I give because all that I have—my time, talents, and treasures—are a gift from God. Giving is an act of faith and gratitude, both to God and for those whom I am serving. When I give away, I make room for greater blessing and abundance in return."

Amy Lythgoe (MDiv, '17)
