Pennsylvania China Trade Office 
The PA DCED Office of International Business Development (OIBD) announced the new Pennsylvania trade office in China is now open. Tractus Asia Consulting www.tractus-asia.com is Pennsylvania's Authorized Trade Representative (ATR) based in Shanghai, China.

Tractus Asia Consulting will provide assistance with product certification, regulatory assistance, agent/distributor searches, foreign company background checks, and more to help Pennsylvania businesses develop and grow the China market.

Trade Mission to IRELAND
October 18-20, 2017
The Office of International Business Development (OIBD) is organizing a trade mission to Ireland from October 18 -20, 2017.
 
Participants will receive pre-arranged, one-on-one business appointments, detailed background information on the companies, logistical assistance and follow-up assistance from the OIBD.
 
Registration fee is $600. The fee does not include travel, hotel or other business expenses.
 
Mission is limited to 10 companies and the registration deadline is August 31, 2017.

BRAZIL & ARGENTINA Trade Mission
November 5-11, 2017
The Conference of Great Lakes Governors is coordinating this trade mission to Brazil and Argentina.
 
Participation fee is $1,350 and covers group ground transportation, networking events, briefing and logistic assistance. NOT included are travel, individual transportation, interpreters, hotel and meal expenses.
 
Market research & customized appointment setting fees are $2,500 in Brazil and $2,300 in Argentina. Registration Deadline is September 11, 2017.

MEDICA 2017
 November 13-16, 2017
MEDICA 2017 will mark the 25th year Pennsylvania will sponsor at this major trade show.
 
The Pennsylvania Office of International Business Development (OIBD)is marketing a turnkey booth package to interested businesses and is in Hall 16.
 
Products exhibited in Hall 16 include medical devices and equipment, instruments, commodities and consumables and medical technologies. Businesses with other medical products are invited to exhibit in the Pennsylvania booth.
 
Booth space is limited and will be filled on a first-come / served basis.

NAFTA Re-Negotiations
The U.S. Trade Representative will commence negotiations with Canada and Mexico to review the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
 
The review will focus on Digital trade, Intellectual Property rights, Regulatory Practices, State-owned Enterprises, Services, Customs Procedures and more.

Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP)
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that compliance of the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) is now required by companies that import food for humans and animals.
 
The final rule requires that importers perform certain risk-based activities to verify that food imported into the United States has been produced in a manner that meets applicable U.S. safety standards.

Port of Philadelphia
The Port of Philadelphia has a new branding to identify itself globally. The Port is now known as PhilaPort according to the Port's news release.
 
The new branding comes on the heels of the Port's channel new depth and widening work and infrastructure improvements to accommodate larger ships, improved efficiencies and new services to and from the port.
