With Celebration
The   largest June Dairy   Month   kickoff celebration   in the Southeast   was held on June 2 at the Ellington Agricultural Center in Nashville. The   ADA of   Tennessee   was proud to   partner   with   the Tennessee   Farm Bureau and Tennessee   4-H to   recognize the hard work of 4-H youth in promoting dairy across the state. The winners of a statewide poster contest were announced, along with dairy chairperson awards. "Out of School Bash" Summer Nutrition Promotion
Weakley County School Nutrition Director, Trista Snider, began promoting their Summer Nutrition Program before school was out to make sure students and parents knew about the opportunity and the ten sites serving meals. Last year Weakley County Schools offered meals at seven locations and served more than 7,600 cartons of milk. This year they ordered promotion items from SUDIA to advertise the program and Snider says she expects to see more children participate and serve lots more milk! According to Snider, "the Summer Nutrition resources are amazing and we are grateful to use them to promote the program and milk."
