A HUGE thank you to Lakewood for the support and love at the Youth Silent Auction. We raised more than $7,000 for Choir Tour and another $1,000 for the Float The Boat campaign. LAKEWOOD'S BEST KEPT SECRET

The Lakewood UMC library (located in Room EB 102) has many wonderful books, which can be checked out for your personal use. It provides the adult congregation with a collection of resources that enhances the development of a Christian life.

Here are  s ome facts about your church library:

In the last 3 years, old books, worn books, study guides, pamphlets, and duplicate copies of books have been pulled from the shelves. New books have been added. Because of limited space, there is now only one copy of each book.

We are in the process of rebuilding the card catalog on an Excel spreadsheet. Until this work is completed, there is a bulletin board that explains how to locate a book by category or topic, and how to check out and return a book. Please try to return the book within three weeks from the date you checked it out. Remember, there is only one copy of a book in the library and others might also need to use it.

The bottom shelf of each bookcase on the left-hand side of the library contains literature for teaching Sunday School. If you use the teaching literature, please sign your name and class name on the sheet in the return book basket. Upon finishing the unit, please return it to the library by placing it in the return book basket.

Christian fiction and biographies are located on the right wall of the library. These books are filed alphabetically according to the author's last name.

There are no library hours. When the church staff is in the office, the library is available. The library works on the honor system.

WE NEED LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS!
To sign-up, contact Carol Hudson, 697-6924.
