Kamm's Corners Farmers Market Opens on Sunday, June 11, at 10 a.m.

Grab your shopping bags to fill up on opening day of Kamm's Corners Farmers Market, now entering its 11th summer. Our favorite farmers are returning to the municipal parking lot behind Walgreens at West 168th Street and Lorain Avenue, offering their goods from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. In addition, catch the chef demo from noted "farm-to-table" restaurant, AMP 150, serving America's modern palate at 4277 West 150th Street, inside the Airport Marriott. The market demo begins at 11:30 p.m. and includes free samples!

Each Sunday features live musical entertainment from locally famous artists. Headlining opening day is Rockport, including noted guitarist Rick Christyson, vocalist Wendy Poltorek, and bassist Steve Hudock. Rick and Wendy are West Parkers and Steve hails from Lakewood. See a list of scheduled market performers, here.

Also this summer, a healthy living feature has local experts sharing practical tips on heart health and easy dietary improvement. Free blood pressure checks will be given along with other easily done screenings right on the spot.

Talk to the farmers and learn about what they are growing. If you have children, bring them along. Even the pickiest eaters may be more apt to try something new if they see it displayed by the farmer who grew it. Click here for more about the market.

See you June 11, and every Sunday on the corner of Fresh and Fun!
