Mobile Kappa League President Farewell
Out of my four years in the Mobile Kappa League, I, as well as my Kappa League brothers in the program, gained much more than we anticipated. From my first introduction to the program, I knew it was something special. Rarely is there an intervention program that can supplement the growth of a young man like myself in the absence of his father. Nevertheless, the Mobile Kappa league provides this through its programs, philosophy, and membership.
To those new Mobile Kappa Leaguers and Mobile Kappa Leaguers of the future know that what is taught to you, implicitly and explicitly, in the program will lead you to success not only in high school but also in your careers and journeys into Manhood.
To those interested in supporting the Mobile Kappa Leaguers, please do and do so generously. The Mobile Kappa League has a positive effect on both the young men in the program and the community of Mobile at large. The data collected by the advisors (scholarship amounts, number of college graduates, etc.) supports my claims, and you can find more data and details on the Mobile Kappa League website at https://www.mobilekappaleague.org/mkl-results.
Lastly, in the spirit of the program, I will continue to strive to be #akutabove.
Paul Locket (KL President 2017-2018)

Kappa Alpha Psi and Kappa League
host "Learn 2 Live" Program
The Mobile Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and their Mobile Kappa League Program hosted a "Learn 2 Live" program on Monday, June 4, 2018, at the Kappa House.
In 2016, the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. announced the launch of, "Learn 2 Live," a collaborative effort with the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) to formally address one of the most critical issues affecting people of color in the United States. Mobile Kappa League alum, Riley Stewart, of the Mobile Police Department, collaborated with Mobile Kappa League President, Stefon Ward, and Kappa League Advisor, Carl Cunningham Jr., Ph.D., to develop the program.
"Learn 2 Live" provides:
● Increased awareness of law enforcement and community policing
● Statistical perspectives of people of color and the legal system
● Factual understanding of constitutional rights
● Practical strategies and tools to utilize when dealing with police
● An opportunity for more desirable outcomes when encountering law enforcement officials.
