TxDMV Warns of Stolen Titles

TIADA received a notice from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles regarding title thefts in Arizona. As a result of a theft of blank titles in April 2017, the State of Arizona has alerted jurisdictions that roughly 25,000 blank Certificate of Title forms have been stolen from the state. Along with the notification, TxDMV forwarded a list of the control numbers identified as stolen since 2002.

TxDMV advises dealers not to reject an application if a customer surrenders an Arizona Certificate of Title identified on the list. Instead, please follow the Red Flag procedures outlined in Registration and Title Bulletin #009-16.
