A Banner Year

Happy Summer, Everyone! Four scholarships instead of one, public speaking engagements, participation in a national conference-- we've had a busy first six months of 2015!

In February, Rebecca and Maggie traveled to B. A.'s home state of Arkansas and spoke as part of the Clinton School of Public Service's speaker series. During our address, we commemorated her 60th birthday by announcing the Foundation's endowment of a graduate tuition scholarship at the University of Arkansas, her alma mater. Maggie was also a keynote speaker at the inaugural event for the Washington Lady Project and both Maggie and Meredith represented the Foundation at the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders

In April, Maggie was hired by the Foundation as the development director, Rebecca's title was changed to program director, and we're in the process of hiring an operations manager. Our new staff member will run the day-to-day operations of the Foundation to allow the directors to continue developing our programs that support young women. We look forward to welcoming our new operations manager in the next couple of months!

Now it's June. After a record setting number of applications and interviews for the Undergraduate and Graduate Public Service Scholarships, as well as the STEM Scholarship, and plenty of cajoling each other to make hard choices, we've selected 14 women to be our scholars in 2015.  We're proud to introduce you to them below and, if you're in DC, meet them in person at our annual BBQ on June 27. Have a great summer and we hope to see you soon!
