Reach-Connect-Grow-Serve

We see a welcoming family, living the Gospel of Grace. We see a family where people can safely seek, question, and be revived.  We see a family energized by the Spirit alive in our midst.
Pastor's Message

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5
Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

Last month we talked about why. Why are we doing what we do? Why is part of a 3 stave tripod - what, how and why. As a congregation we have already determined our "what" and "how." What do we do as a congregation? REACH out to all people, CONNECT them to God and a Christian community, GROW together in faith, and SERVE God and God's creation.

You may know this as REACH CONNECT GROW SERVE. But in truth, we can thank God for the ministries that fall in these categories: Connecting through youth, small groups, forums and service. Growing together in faith in worship, small groups, Brew, Faith5, and ministry teams; serving others through the Outreach Center Block Party, Christmas gifts, Inns program, as well as our ministry teams - the band, counters, media, altar, SALT, Children, land/space, shared space, LGBTQ, etc. Those who participate in these ministries...  are amazing! You have been faithful witnesses in this place. You are telling others of God's love.

So, we've one more piece to come...  Our Story of Why at Spirit Alive. We will work on developing that in our sermon time in the month of June. Come and be part of the discussion.
On another note, there are some big opportunities in front of us. Thank God for these opportunities of renewal. As Philippians reminds us, pray about them. Lift them up to God. These opportunities are part of our "Why." God is leading us literally, to new spaces! And... God will bring us peace as we seek to follow.

Volunteer Opportunities

Calling all auditors . . . We are looking for members of our community who can help us do an internal audit. This team would be a 3-month commitment, and you would set your own schedule in relationship to each other and Mike Slye. This is another way we show transparent leadership with our congregation. Talk with Ann Livermore or Pastor Jennifer if God is calling you to this position.
Sunday School Update elbow-children-line.jpg

Three of us, Jeni Parkinson, Beth Spiegel, and Pastor Jennifer are working to redesign how we minister with children, targeting 4k through 5th grade. Stay tuned for more details over the summer.
