Oh, What a Night!
On May 18th Holland America Line and Holiday Cruises & Tours hosted an appreciation dinner for about 200 Mariner Society members. Any past passenger on a Holland America Line cruise is automatically included in this society.
The gala event was held at the Women's Clubhouse in Los Robles with a catered dinner. The program for the evening included:
- A presentation by Amy Akamine, Business Development Manager about future developments for HAL.
- A "Travel Jeopardy" game.
- Four past passengers offered short presentations of their experience on a HAL cruise.

Stallworth Bunch
Cruise to Cuba
"Our trip to Cuba. I called it the Stallworth bunch as it is my sister Judy and my two sister-in-laws Marylin and Joan; and of course, I was a Stallworth before marrying.
We had a wonderful time together especially getting to see Cuba in the raw so to speak. We were delighted at the old buildings and architecture. The people were very friendly and welcomed us each place we went. It was a marvelous cruise in that we did different tours and shared with each other about them as well as pictures.
The best of all was seeing all the old cars and there was so many. Sloppy Joe's Bar, food and rum and coke was great. Earnest Hemingway bar was wild and crazy. The entire trip was just great. Go now and see it while you can

Explore the Rhone River
On this trip we are on Tauck's ms. Swiss Emerald sailing in the Provence region of southern France from Lyon to Arles. The Swiss Emerald has recent been totally remodeled. Not just redoing fabrics and carpet, I'm talking taking out walls to make larger staterooms.
We'll leave from Lyon and do a round trip down the Rhone River to Arles and back again visiting various towns along the way.

Ladies Caribbean Cruise 2017
.
Our group returned with happy memories of sailing from Port Everglade to Dominican Republic, Grand Turks and Half Moon Cay aboard the Carnival Conquest.
Comments that were shared from the ladies included the entertainment and the activities day and night were fantastic. A much needed vacation with mission accomplished of spa relaxation, fun crew, exploring different islands, and meeting people from various cultures.
We had the time of our life and looking forward to next year's Ladies Caribbean Cruise 2018 aboard the Oasis of the Seas. Thank you Chynell for making the arrangements for a good time had by all.

We have just returned from a week in Costa Rica. The trip was a present for my husband for his 66th birthday.
A direct flight from Atlanta to Liberia is less than a 4 hour flight. You do need a valid passport.
We stayed at an all-inclusive resort called Westin Golf Resort and Spa Playa Conchal in Guanacaste. The Resort is about 1 hour away from the airport. The Westin has 7 restaurants so we ate at a different one each night. We swam in the Pacific Ocean each day and relaxed by the pool in the afternoon.
There are so many things to do in Costa Rica. Visit the Rain Forest, have a mud bath, zip line, rent four wheeler, charter a boat to go fishing, horseback riding, or simply experience the country's way of life.
Costa Rica is a safe and adventuresome place to visit. It was our second trip there and we are eager to return again.
