Riding into Summer!
June 2014, it's hard to believe we're halfway through the year. The season is now upon us ...all of the excitement we've been planning for. The 28th Annual Healdsburg Harvest Bike Tour is July 19th. It's the biggest fundraiser for the Chamber so please help us if you can. We still need some sponsors for the Bicycle Route Map. It's silkscreened on a bandana so it's a keepsake as well as a helpful tool. $300 will add your company name or logo to the bandana map. Remember, over 900 cyclists will be receiving the bandana, so your name will certainly be seen.
We also need volunteers to help with the bike tour . On Friday, July 18th we could use some help at the High School cafeteria preparing food for the rest stops, and help with setting out all of the route arrows and signs. On Saturday, tour day, we could use some help loading and delivering food to the rest stops, registering participants at the High School and winding things down at the end. Please call or email Aleena if you can help us, 433-6935 or [email protected]
Sidewalk sales will be held August 14-17. Please offer any input you may have at the Downtown Business District meeting July 2, 8:30 am. The Healdsburg Tribune will be soliciting advertising for the sale insert. The DBD pays for the header and the color in the ad to help keep the cost of advertising more affordable to participants.

Healdsburg District Hospital's Anthony Burich has been Honored
Anthony Burich, a registered nurse (RN) in the Medical Surgical Department has been honored as Healdsburg District Hospital's second DAISY Award recipient. The DAISY Award celebrates nurses who demonstrate exceptional clinical skills and outstanding patient care. "I am humbled and honored to receive this recognition. Thank you to all who submitted a nomination on my behalf. Patient care is a team endeavor. My efforts wouldn't be possible without the support of my colleagues and I would like to give huge, heartfelt thanks to all of them," said Anthony.
The DAISY Award was created to say thank you to nurses who deliver excellent and compassionate care to their patients. The award was established in 1999 by the Barnes family in Glen Ellen, in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who was cared for by many extraordinary nurses when he was ill. Today over 1,700 healthcare facilities in all 50 states and 10 other countries participate in this registered nursing award program.
