The early days of summer are such a treat and we hope you are enjoying some lovely weather.  The flowers are everywhere and they have inspired us this month as we turn to ideas for the warmer weather.

Summer Crochet

When the weather gets warmer many of us turn to crochet - after all who wants to knit a chunky jumper when the temperatures are soaring?  We have selected four of our favourite patterns to inspire you.

Crocheting motifs is very relaxing.  If you have had enough of granny squares you might want to try this beautiful  Double Spiral Throwby Kaye Adolphson which is intriguing and looks absolutely stunning.

A cool summer top is just the perfect project for this time of year.  Sweet Clara Top by Kristin Omdahl is quick to crochet and ready to wear on the beach in no time.

Here is the perfect bag for all of your summer adventures.  Mochila Liza by Marion Verloop has an exotic, South American feel to it.  We can't wait to put togehter our colours for this project.

The  Virus shawl  by Julia Marquardt is our 'go-to' shawl pattern.  Why not use some of the colour change yarns that are very popular this season for a very funky look.

Can you recommend any other  patterns to crochet over the summer? Please share them with us on our Facebook page .

Happy Hookers

If you have been inspired by any of the lovely patterns we have recommended you might need to treat yourself to a new hook or two.  At KnitPro we are very proud of the ranges of crochet hooks we have to offer.

Our Waves range has been a huge success and the hooks now come in sizes from 2.00 - 12.00mm.  Each size is easily identified by its vibrantly coloured soft handle.

If you prefer wood we have an extensive collection in our signature Symfonie, Basix Birch and Bamboo.  The handy double-ended Symfonie hooks, pictured above, pair up two sizes in one hook.  Perfect for patterns that require 2 hooks.

We offer specially developed split ring markers for crocheters.  These are so useful if you are making motifs and need to keep hold of a stitch, or to mark your place as you go.

If you know someone who is new to crochet and you would like to encourage them our brightly coloured Trendz hooks are so lovely to look at that we know they won't be able to put them down.

The Knit Show
We are delighted to announce that KnitPro has become a key backer for an exciting crowd funding project.  The Knit Show is the brainchild of Vickie Howell to bring a knit and crochet show like no other to a global audience on YouTube.

Each episode will feature Industry experts and superstar guests, knitting & crochet tips and techniques and modern, totally make-able, high quality projects  to help knitters gain more experience and skill.

If Vickie Howell's name is familiar you have probably seen one of her previous shows such as "Knitty Gritty" or " Knitting Daily with Vickie Howell", or read one of her books including Pop Goes Crochet, Step It Up Knits or Finger Knitting Fun.
