Dear Friends of A Novel Experience,

This month we celebrate our own backyard--the landscapes and inhabitants of the rolling hills of Pike County and its nearest neighbors. It's our first "Zebulon Show"--a collection of photographs taken by both natives and visitors. We are indebted to our Juror, Sara Keith of the Atlanta School of Photography, who chose 24 images from a grand assortment of entries. Sarah is no stranger to the area--she and her staff have presented Photo 101 and 102 to an entire generation of SlowExposures visitors. We'll be toasting the makers at a reception on Saturday, June 17th--come on by.

We would be remiss in not mentioning Father's Day--June 18th. Consider a book for your dad--there's nothing like choosing a title that speaks to his unique interests or dreams...baseball, sailing, flying...part-time cowboy, action hero, or spy. Your conversation with him will be priceless for both of you. Another event--our favorite classical guitarist, Ryan Cummings returns on Friday, June 9th at 7:00 p.m. We have four spots open for our next Living Room Conversation on Sunday, June 4th--the topic: Gun Control--give us a ring if you would like to join us.

For those who "read" via audiobooks, we've just added Libro.fm to our offerings--You can sign up here at the store or by visiting Libro.fm/anovelexperience . Listen away on your iPhone, Android device, or PC. See below for more information.

Upcoming in July--it's our annual Flag Show where we ask you to bring in a photograph (matted or framed) of our nation's flag. We'll hang all of the photos in the store for the month and celebrate on Saturday, July 8th from 6-8. And, we're crossing our fingers, but it looks like a tiny, multicolored kitten has taken up residence on our back patio. We're hoping he (or she) will stick around--in the meantime, we're asking everyone to come up with some bookish names. Send them to anovelexperience@gmail.com. and we'll post the top three on our Facebook page! Updates on this latest staff addition will follow.

And, as always, come on by and tell us what you're reading...and, stay tuned for our summer pool of great beach reads!  Thanks for supporting the store--we couldn't do it without you!
