Welcome to Caribbean American Heritage Month
# Show Yuh Colors

Happy June Massive,

I am not going to say too much in this message, except that we have an entire month in which to show our Caribbean colors and personality (this month called June) and we are fortunate that this is all happening in one of the "hottest" months of the year; when the weather is really awesome.

Whatever you do this month, ensure that you wear your Caribbean-NESS with pride and also educate someone who is not Caribbean about where YOU are from.

I went to an Ethiopian affair on last Thursday and the White lady complimented me on my attire (which was African).  When she heard my accent, she said, "Awesome that you're from Jamaica."  I smiled because she got THAT right.  She then said "I really LOVE the way you are wearing those Jamaican colors.  It is beautiful."  I smiled and said thanks, and then later I realized that if I did not educate her then, she would forever make the same mistake so I went back over, smiled and said, "My outfit is made with Ghanaian fabric (Africa not Jamaica), but you know what, this Jamaican is really from Africa, so there is THAT." She looked at her husband, and they both looked at me and said "WOW! Thanks so much for letting us know. You're such a nice young lady."  Yep, she also got THAT right.  I felt like my job was done (for that night at least).

Let's not the forget the lady who spoke to Dr. Bobby on the phone and told him after hearing his accent that she loves Jamaica especially the place called St. Vincent.  Hmmmmmmmm #WTH :-)

BAD BREED
 SYNOPSIS OF BAD BREED

BAD BREED    is another hilarious comedy from the prolific pen of award-winning playwright David Tulloch and produced by Jam Stage Productions.

BAD BREED is loads of fun and a belly full of laughter. The comedy is at best an intimately revealing and entertaining roller-coaster, featuring some intensely dramatic moments and elicits big laughs in its more comedic ones. BAD BREED  offers a thought-provoking meditation on the struggles and sacrifices of single fatherhood, the cost of deceit, and the price of dignity and budding love.

Throw into the mix, themes like class and social cultures and you have a rollicking mix up and blender.
We see Wi lfred James wanting to marry Jackie Lawson but he is hindered by his son because his son still
thinks that his late mother can't be replaced. How the rest of it unravels will only blow your mind.
The complexities of family, truth, love and opposition are prime themes for the piece.

The production is also directed by Tulloch who has been chalking up platitudes and accolades for his
multi-faceted works in recent times.

The Cast: Maxwell "Bashy" Grant, Terri Salmon, Michael "Stringbean" Nicholson, Akeem Poyser and
Daneila "Teeta" Gordon.
