We're proud to feature Whidbey Playhouse in gorgeous Oak Harbor, WA in this month's newsletter. It's a true community theatre where volunteers have selected, produced, and acted in plays and musicals for almost 50 years! Whidbey Playhouse seats 128 patrons, and has a separate rehearsal hall, and an astounding prop, costume, and set building workshop. It produces five shows each season annually, plus various off season offerings: The Would Be Players for kids age 8 to 18; Whidbey Improv Team performing for community events and in various venues; classes in acting, auditioning, stage dancing,or directing; and fun social events throughout the year.

report Run a report on who's attending a show so you can contact them with a reminder
Your box office isn't successful just because you have fabulous performances. It's also because you nurture relationships with your patrons.

A great way to do that is to contact them and remind them they have tickets for an upcoming performance and tell them how glad you are they will be there.

There's an easy way to create a report in Wintix to give you information on who bought tickets, where their seats are and their contact information.  
offsaleShow goes off sale too soon

Has this happened to you?

 

It's the day or night of the performance and you've been selling tickets in Wintix, then at a specific time, you can no longer see the show for sale in Wintix.  Do not panic!  There is a reason why this would happen.  When originally setting up your show, the off sale date and time has been set to go off sale prematurely.  Click here to learn more.

The afternoon of May 27th was rather quiet. Then, our phones started ringing. Our customers were calling and they were all saying the same thing, "Webtix is down." We checked and sure enough, Webtix really was down. What do we do?

We started on our plan for such things. We did not need to complete it as the server came up again. We didn't suffer the outage for long. Still, it was a reminder to always back up your data.

ticketHaving trouble selling while printing tickets?
If you are selling tickets while printing, and a screen pops  up telling you how many tickets are in the queue, you may not be able sell more tickets while the other tickets are still printing. If that is the case, do the following:

  • In Windows 7, click on "Devices and printers"
  • In Windows XP, click on "Printers and faxes" 
  • Right click on the ticket printer and choose "Printer properties." Then choose the "Advanced" tab.  In this example, we are choosing the Datamax 4203 driver.  See screen shot below:

 

 

  • Click on the "Advanced" tab and change the radio button labeled "Print directly to the printer" to the radio button labeled "Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster." 
  • Click on the "Apply" button and then the "OK" button.
