We are partnering with the Northern Illinois Food Bank to provide a free summer lunch on Mondays and Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m., beginning June 9, for children age 18 and younger. Local teachers, volunteers and community groups are adding to our efforts to support local families by providing a nutritious lunch and learning opportunity.
Deep Down Dark by Hector Tobar will be discussed on June 21 at 10 a.m. Lissa Evans' novel
Crooked Heart will be the topic of the June 28 discussion at 7 p.m.

Summer Reading drawings.
Local artist Tuan D. Thai says painting has been his passion "as long as I can remember." Painting in oils, his work encompasses large landscapes that stretch across two or three canvases, cityscapes, still lifes and portraits. Beginning June 2, Tuan's oil paintings will be featured in the Lobby Art Gallery. An additional large landscape will be hung near the Friends Book Sale.
