Tupelo Music Hall Londonderry

Hi Everyone,

Good morning to you all!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and fabulous Mother’s Day. It certainly was perfect cookout weather! Maybe all you moms got breakfast in bed? I hope so. I’ve already had about 4 cups of coffee so strap in. I’m on a roll today.

I have been trying to book a date with Bob Schneider for about three years now but we’ve never been able to find dates that work with both Bob’s schedule and ours. I’m super excited to announce today that we have finally booked a show with Bob Schneider! I can’t wait. Bob is one of my all time favorite artists. If you don’t know who Bob is, please, please, please check him out. This guy is awesome. (Gee, Scott, how do you really feel about him?) Ha. Seriously---don’t miss this one. I won’t.

We’re working hard to update our Facebook page and stay active on it. Feel free to get on our Facebook and say hello, ask us questions, request a band, tell me how good looking I am, etc. OK---maybe that was a bit of a stretch. It would probably make more sense to tell us how good looking Rob is instead. Please “LIKE US” on Facebook when you log on. We like to be liked.

DUELING PIANOS FUNDRAISER
On Thursday evening (tomorrow night), the Londonderry Athletic and Fields Association will host a “Dueling Pianos” fundraiser and silent auction at Tupelo. Proceeds from the event will help send the 13 members of Londonderry's 12-year-old all-stars baseball team to the Cooperstown Dreams Park. What is Dueling Pianos? It's sort of a comedy show. The pianists really play off one another, and they'll take requests from the audiences. Tons of fun and all for a great cause. Please consider attending. Tickets are still available for $30 per person or $50 per couple. Dinner will be provided by La Carreta Mexican Restaurant. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the silent auction, with entertainment to commence at 8:00 p.m.

We have THREE New Bookings to announce

August 9 BIG BROTHER & THE HOLDING COMPANY
August 11 PAULA POUNDSTONE

As always, thanks for supporting Tupelo Music Hall!

OUR NEXT NEW HAMPSHIRE SHOWS
May 18 GLENGARRY BHOYS
Described as bold, unorthodox, vibrant, and evocative, the “GLENGARRY BHOYS” hybrid of Canadian Highland Scots and French Canadian musical idioms has evolved into a sound that is weighty, authoritative, and extremely entertaining. Their energy and good humor, as much a part of the show as their musicianship, crosses all cultures and ages. From a small Scots-French-Canadian enclave in Eastern Ontario, these Celtic-Stompers, always pushing the musical envelope but never straying too far from the traditional whence they came, have earned a reputation as entertainers that challenge you to sit still during their engaging performances.

May 19 ROOMFUL OF BLUES
Even though Roomful of Blues' lineup has changed over the years, the band has always been one of the tightest, most joyful blues ensembles in the world. Currently an eight-piece unit led by guitarist Chris Vachon, the band has never sounded fresher or stronger. In 2010, singer Phil Pemberton took over the vocal duties, bringing his sweet and soulful vocals and adding another bright new dimension to the jazzy, jump-blues musical roots. Their winning combination of jump, swing, blues, R&B and soul remains their calling card, as does their ability to fill the dance floor. Along with new members, bassist John Turner, trumpeter Doug Woolverton and, longer standing members keyboardist Travis Colby, drummer Ephraim Lowell, baritone and tenor saxophonist Mark Earley, tenor and alto saxophonist Rich Lataille, Roomful keeps on rockin'!

NEW HAMPSHIRE NEW BOOKINGS
August 9 BIG BROTHER & THE HOLDING COMPANY
Big Brother and the Holding Company is an American rock band that formed in San Francisco in 1965 as part of the same psychedelic music scene that produced the Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service and Jefferson Airplane. They are best known as the band that featured Janis Joplin as their lead singer. Their 1968 album Cheap Thrills is considered one of the masterpieces of the psychedelic sound of San Francisco; it reached number one on the Billboard charts, and was ranked number 338 in Rolling Stone 's the 500 greatest albums of all time.

August 11 PAULA POUNDSTONE
Second show added!
Appearing on stage with a stool, a microphone, and a can of Diet Pepsi, Paula Poundstone is famous for her razor-sharp wit and spontaneity. The Boston Globe said, “Poundstone improvises with a crowd like a Jazz musician, swinging in unexpected directions without a plan, without a net”. Paula is so quick and unassuming that audience members at her live shows often leave complaining that their cheeks hurt from laughter and debating whether the random people she talked to were “plants”

August 18 BOB SCHNEIDER
Bob Schneider is not new to this game. He has built his career as a working class musician and as a result has an institution of faithful followers all across the country with a mega-fan-base epicenter in Austin. There have been highs - the near-breakthrough success of 'Lonelyland,' and the next-big-thing hype that surrounded it. He has flourished as an independent artist releasing five albums, hundreds of digital singles, and fronting three bands simultaneously. Yet, Schneider still continues to push himself in a multitude of creative directions now with the beguiling melodies of 'Lovely Creatures'

Austin is a renowned music town and the list of successful artists that call it home is as long as it is eclectic and numerous, but Bob has set himself apart in more ways than one: 'Lonelyland,' for instance, is the 1 bestselling album ever at Waterloo Records, the city’s legendary indie music store, having sold 25,000 copies at that location alone.
