MAGIC!
THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES
Sponsored by the Family Resource Center (FRC)
Just Another Typical Week at
Charter Oak...

The classic children's tale, The Emperor's New Clothes , came to life last week at Charter Oak thanks to the time, energy and support of the FRC, faculty and parent community - and some pretty incredible students.

The question is - what did YOU think of the Emperor's new clothes? Before you answer that remember to "think for yourself and always tell the truth"!

What an amazing and very entertaining production.
Important Message for
Charter Oak Parents of Young Children
The lottery for pre-k is now open!
If you are a parent of a child who will be eligible for pre-k for the 2018-19 school year, please note that both magnet and neighborhood families must enter your pre-k aged child into the lottery . Children entering the lottery with siblings attending Charter Oak next year receive preferential status but are not guaranteed acceptance.

If you have a pre-k student currently attending Charter Oak you do not need to re-apply.

You can find paper applications in the main office or apply online .

Please feel free to stop by the office and see me with any questions or contact me at Irene_Garneau@whps.org
EXPLORATIONS
After School Program
Calling Parent Volunteers!
Share Your Talents!

We are in the process of planning our second session of the Explorations program for this year, this is an after school enrichment program that will be offered:
  • Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 3:20-4:20
  • The second session will be February 27-March 29
  • It is a four class session
  • There are no Explorations classes during conference week, March 5-March 9

Do you have an interest or talent you would be willing to share with our students? We are looking for parents to volunteer their time to run a course. Our goal is to  offer our students opportunities to further explore the world from many different perspectives.

We are looking to have our Exploration offerings relate to our school goals of being:
  • Internationally Minded
  • Inquiry Based
  • Action Oriented
  • Healthy Minds and Bodies

If you are interested, please contact Nanette at nanette_paridy@whps.org
by Tuesday, January 30th.
