Welcome back!
Just in Time Mathematics (JiT Math) had a big year in 2015-16 as it spread statewide, reaching approximately 250 teachers grades 4-8! Now, after hearing the demand from other grade levels, JiT Math is ready to roll out a K-3 cohort AND a 9-12 cohort!

Each grade level/cohort follows its own schedule with sessions focusing on the content areas relevant to its respective teachers.

Take a look at the statistics we received from the 2013-2015 grades 4-8 cohort. We are so excited to see the impact JiT Math is making on not only teaching practices, but also on the way students are understanding and responding to mathematics in the classroom.

If you want to hear more about how JiT Math was created and how teachers have responded to the content, watch this short 6 minute video. You'll see footage from actual JiT Math sessions and hear straight from the teachers the impact this training has had in their classroom and on their own teaching practices.

These sessions focus on teaching and learning the North Dakota State Standards for Mathematics.   Each session incorporates grade-specific mathematical content along with the mathematical practice standards through the lens of best teaching and learning strategies. Note that the K-3 and HS cohorts each meet as a single group, not individually by grade.

Outcomes of JiT Mathematics:
  • Increase mathematical knowledge of content aligned to the N.D. State Standards for Mathematics.
  • Increase teacher knowledge and application of the mathematical practices.
  • Incorporate best teaching and learning practices.
  • Shift the focus to include deep understanding, applications and tools.
  • Increase teacher self-reflection and self-evaluation through instructional coaching.
  • Improve student learning and understanding of mathematics.
