Our four-year Save Our Parish Community initiative finally experienced resounding success when the Vatican granted parishioner appeals from thirteen churches in three dioceses (Buffalo, Allentown, and Springfield), ruling that their churches cannot be sold or closed.

It was through your donations and memberships that FutureChurch was able to supply resources to parishioners in all these dioceses. If the Vatican upholds similar appeals pending in Cleveland and elsewhere, diocesan bishops will be less inclined to suppress small, vibrant, and solvent parishes --- especially if they can't sell buildings and land --- now subject to property taxes.

FutureChurch is anticipating new rounds of parish closings and reconfigurations in the Archdioceses of Detroit, Boston and Baltimore.
