SPECIAL EVENT!!! Fr. Brian will celebrate Mass on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 7:00 pm while a Mass Commentator explains each part of Holy Mass! Please plan to attend! 7th & 8th graders will attend in place of class.
To start off our 2nd semester, Father Nathan visited RE this week, teaching our 1st-5th graders what it means to be Pro-Life.
To make this lesson meaningful, he shared many interesting stories and facts about his recent trip with the Honduras Mission Team to visit our friends in the orphanage and elder care home. He gave the students many examples of how he was able to be "the hands and feet of Christ on earth to protect life at every stage and every age, especially the unborn, because Every Life Deserves a Lifetime!...the theme of the poster contest this year.
Father explained that we are truly Pro-Life when we realize that God is the creator of each and every human life, and it is only for God to to decide when a person's life begins and when their earthly life ends.
Our part is to witness to our love of God by valuing the dignity and beauty of each and every human person, no matter their age, social status, wealth, or any other worldly measurement.
Read Father Nathan's blog post from the Honduras Mission Trip and learn more about what he taught our students:
The last half of class was spent making our Pro-Life Posters. This weekend is the Respect Life Rose Procession at the Saturday 5:00 pm Vigil Mass, and at the 10:30 am Sunday Mass. All the posters will be displayed in the parish hall after the Sunday Masses. Enjoy donuts and coffee or juice while you look at the great work our students were able to do in less than 30 minutes!
Our students understand that there are no rights unless each person first has a
Right to Life!
Next week in RE, the Knights of Columbus will award the students with winning posters, and since all the kids did such a great job, everyone will get a special treat from the Christian Formation Office! :)
