FACULTY SPOTLIGHT
LEA WINKLER - 3RD GRADE
In addition to teaching 3rd grade, Lea is our STEM coordinator, and she also teaches several JAdventure classes. Lea has been in the Brandeis Teacher Leadership Program and a part of the Teacher Leader Fellowship for Jewish day school teachers at Brandeis University over the past two years. She graduated this past Sunday with an Masters in Education (EdM) - her second masters. Mazal tov Lea!!

FROM OUR CLASSROOMS
KINDERGARTEN
Kindergarten took an imaginary trip to Israel this week! They went through security and boarded the plane. They visited the Dead Sea and Tel Aviv.
4TH GRADE
Our 4th graders spent the day at the Blue Hill Observatory. As they hiked up the Great Blue Hill, they learned about the different rocks and three types of weathering. Upon reaching the observatory, the students examined the equipment used for gathering weather data. Finally, they took part in a kite-making workshop
5TH GRADE
As part of their Jewish Studies curriculum, out 5th graders studied trope with Cantor Elana. This week they read from the Torah during tefillah and at Shirat Hayam on shabbat .
5TH GRADE
5th graders visited Lexington to see the site of The Battle of Lexington and The Hancock-Clarke House. They completed an activity to determine who fired the first shot by analyzing primary sources from this
time period.
