News Programs In An Election Year
|
|
Dear KJZZ Listeners,
2016 is off to a strong start and KJZZ is here to keep you up to date. We've brought you a live
broadcast and analysis of Governor Doug Ducey's State of the State Address and the live
broadcast of President Obama's final State of the Union. You rely on KJZZ every day, and in
2016, your trusted news source will be even more important.
The presidential primary season is in full swing. States with late spring presidential primaries
will play a more pronounced role in deciding the candidates for President, and KJZZ will connect you to you
the reporters on the scene for those crucial votes. KJZZ is also one of 17 stations nationwide to
be selected to participate in NPR's 2016 Political Reporting Partnership. KJZZ's Jude Joffe-
Block was chosen to report on the issues in Arizona and across the Southwest.
Jude will work directly with NPR to provide local context for a variety of 2016
campaign issues.
The goal according to NPR editor Brett Neely is to "cover the 2016 election from the ground up,
combining local and national knowledge to produce stories that illuminate the choices voters will
make." KJZZ will bring you that knowledge and we are proud to be participating.
Here in Arizona, you can count on complete coverage of the
2016 Arizona legislative session,
including the funding decisions for state agencies, the decisions on legislation that goes to the
Governor's desk and the changes and priorities of a new state budget.
And finally for a little timeout...
instead of closing this and going about your day or getting back
to work, take a minute to check out a little feature we do on KJZZ's Original Production
As always, you can trust KJZZ for news, analysis and entertainment. Thank you for being a critical part of
quality news and information in Arizona.
Sincerely,
Jon Hoban
Associate General Manager

Vehicle Donations Float Our Boat
|
|
|
Chambers and Baker talk about the vehicle donation program. |
Douglas Chambers and Mary Baker donated their boat to Friends of Public Radio Arizona through the Vehicle Donation Program. According to Chambers, it was a great option over attempting to sell the boat themselves.
"Quite frankly I'm not at all convinced that I would've made any more money by selling it myself in the long run," Chambers said, " and I'm just not willing to put all the energy that one has to put into such a project any longer."
