Applications due by July 14, 2017 

The KPhA Board of Directors Election is open! KPhA is seeking dedicated pharmacists and a technician to fill upcoming board member positions starting January  1, 2018.

Board positions last for two years and end December 31, 2019. Board members  are responsible for being the primary  leaders  of the association who provide direction and act as the KPhA liaison to members in their academies and districts. 

Ten positions are open for nominations
(self nominations are encouraged)

in Manhattan has Open Spots

The August 8-11 training class for Tobacco Treatment Specialists in Manhattan has a few spots open.  Funding is available to cover hotel guestrooms at the Hilton Garden Inn as well as mileage reimbursement for commuting participants.  


Please contact Amanda Grodie right away if you are interested in one of the available slots or if you want more information.  If you’re selected, Amanda will work with you to ensure completion of the pre-work (Basic Skills online training).

Kansas Pharmacy Foundation Seeks New President
KPF Board Seeks Nominations for KPF President

The KPF Board of Trustees seeks nominations for the position of KPF President. This position is filled on a yearly basis from January 1 through December 31.

The KPF President is required to attend all meetings of the membership and the Board of Trustees. He/She shall have and exercise general charge and supervision of the affairs of the corporation and shall do and perform such other duties as may be assigned him/her by the members. The Board of Trustees meets once a quarter throughout the year, typically in Topeka. Their annual meeting always falls on the Sunday of the KPhA Annual Meeting weekend.

Recognize Your Colleagues for Their Service to Pharmacy
Nominate Deserving Pharmacists for National and State Awards - Nominations are Due July 15th  
KPhA is accepting nominations for seven awards in 2017. There are four national awards  and three state awards. Nominees must be association members. All awards will be presented at the Annual Meeting and Trade Show  in Lawrence on Saturday September 30th.

American Association of Pharmacy Technicians Convention
August 4 - 5, 2017
The American Association of Pharmacy Technicians invite technicians to join them at the 35th Annual National Convention in Omaha, Nebraska on the prestigious University of Nebraska Medical Center campus within lecture halls of UNMC Center for Drug Discovery & Lozier Center for Pharmacy Sciences and Education.

Kansas Board of Pharmacy Meetings and Activities

The Board of Pharmacy meets on a quarterly basis. All meetings are open to the public. A draft agenda is set by the Board 7-­10 days prior to the next scheduled meeting and is made available to the public on this website. The agenda is subject to change and items may be taken out of order. The Board limits public comments to five minutes per  person.

Most meetings are held at the Kansas Board of Healing Arts Board Room * 800 SW Jackson * Lower Level * Topeka, KS .

Member in the News - Amber Haag

Medicine Shoppe rebrands to Haag Pharmacy


The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy is now operating under the name, Haag Pharmacy.

Owners Amber and Cory Haag said the name change became effective July 1 for the pharmacy located at 1400 W. 12th Ave.


Amber Haag said she and her husband are excited for the name change and for the other changes yet to come.


“In today’s health care industry, so much is changing,” Amber Haag said. “Anyone in this business has to be willing to change with it. We feel now is the time to make this change to better prepare us for future opportunities for growth, and to continue to provide exceptional care and services to our patients.”
