HEALTHY INNOVATIONS
The Music of a Healthy Heart
Early in 2018 Kalispell Regional Healthcare added a new procedure to help patients who are at high risk for stroke. The Watchman procedure is the latest addition to an already comprehensive list of cardiac services offered by providers at Rocky Mountain Heart & Lung. This minimally-invasive surgery is aptly named after the main component of the procedure, an implant called the Watchman device.

BE IN THE KNOW
Emergency Room vs. Urgent Care
If you thought you were having a heart attack, you would go to the closest hospital as quickly as possible. However, many other situations aren’t as clear. Deciding on the right place to seek treatment can be a tough call when you feel sick or are in pain.

In 2017, the Kalispell Regional Medical Center and North Valley Hospital emergency departments collectively saw nearly 35,000 patients.

PHILANTHROPY WORKS
Gratitude and Generosity: Philanthropy at Kalispell Regional Healthcare
The Kalispell Regional Healthcare and North Valley Hospital Foundatio ns each operate as the fundraising arm of the hospital that raises money for projects that are beyond the scope of the hospital budget. However, Foundations are about much more than just raising money. The Foundations are committed to helping patients find creative ways to express their gratitude, which can include facilitating a patient sending a thank you card to a caregiver or delivering cookies to the department that cared for them.
