Director's Note

Excitement has been buzzing through the air at KTS! From the Graduating Seniors and Family Breakfast, to the Grandparents/Special Friends day, and our enjoyable spring concert and art show, there has been a lot of positive energy and spirit present at all of our recent events. The dedication and enthusiasm of all who have put their hearts into making this year’s students thrive both academically and socially is evident. Community is the heartbeat of the school; through trust and active participation, KTS has been a safe haven. When you walk through the doors of KTS, the intangible electricity in the air is obvious. With community, each student can achieve and surpass their goals in a supporting and loving environment; that is KTS.

Graduating Seniors Breakfast

On May 3, 2018, the high school hosted a Senior Breakfast for the graduating seniors and their families. About 80 people attended. The highlight of the program was the moving speeches delivered by high school social worker Leslie LeBlanc and high school history teacher David Peal. In their speeches, which spotlighted each student, they offered anecdotes, emphasized the students' special gifts, made us laugh and made some of us cry.
Grandparents and Special Friends Day

Grandparents and Special Friends Day is always a favorite. On Friday May 11th the prek-8th grade programs had their Grandparents and Special Friends Day. Five months' worth of work cultivated in an exciting celebration. Clinicians and support teachers planned fun and exciting first rotations where guests got to participate in an activity with their students. Some of these activities included board and card games, world cup soccer simulation, and much more. The last hour of the day was a Celebration of Nations-Past and Present. Guest got to experience USA, Mexico, Renaissance, Revolutionary War, Ancient Greece, Italy, Russia, Nigeria, Germany, Spain, Algeria, and South Korea. It was an experience full of food fun and culture.
Spring Concert

Audience members were delighted to move through the ages in song, with a little dance sprinkled into the mix. The music and instrumentals were perfection. Everyone in the room moved their hands to the beats.
High School Art Show

The talent showcased was awe-inspiring! The quality artwork speaks for itself. From pottery to modern art to portraits, a variety of different genres was displayed.
