It's Not Too Late to Submit Your Artwork!

Use the visual arts to express your own "Art of Discipleship." What other elements of discipleship do you think are important and what colors do you think might represent those elements? Artwork needs to follow the standard KUMC. Approved artwork will be displayed in the DAC hallway from Palm Sunday through the end of April. Deadline for submission is March 18. *Note that this series exhibit will not be a contest. View guidelines

As we explore the Art of Discipleship and our palette of Pray, Worship, Give, Serve and Witness, how would you determine the colors of activities listed? We gave you a would you color other items on our faith canvas?
March 10 and 11
Matthew 5:38-42

In much of the law, including the Biblical law, there are statutes that seek justice through repaying some form of evil and suffering for another. Theft is paid back with money or perhaps time in prison. Jesus suggests that instead of seeking repayment, we must turn the other cheek, and give the coats off our backs when someone demands our shirts. What would it look like to offer true forgiveness and reconciliation in the face of those who do us wrong?

Upgrade for KUMC
In 2017, one of the strategic initiatives for Keller UMC was to upgrade our digital infrastructure. We have moved our email and shared files to the cloud and off our local server for better security and more reliable service. Our next step is to upgrade our church management system from Shelby v5 to ShelbyNext, a cloud-based product which offers much more functionality. You will hear more about this in the coming months as we test new features and make them available.
On Friday, March 9, we will zip up our Shelby financial and membership files and send them to Shelby Systems, where they will be migrated to the new system. We have put plans into place to minimize the impact on the congregation, but you may see a delay of a few days for things like processing offering checks or cutting reimbursement checks for the next two weeks or so. Thank you in advance for your patience as we embrace this new technology!
End of Life Planning
The second session of a faith-centered approach to the phases of end of life will help participants not only to have a better understanding of DNR, Living Will and Medical Power of Attorney documents, but also helpful ways to plan a funeral/memorial service. We will cover everything from favorite scripture to music. Bring your ideas and question for our panel.

Wednesday,   March 7, at 6:30pm in DAC 417. T his information is important for all families at all ages: children of aging parents, grandparents, spouses as primary care givers and anyone that loves and cares about others. Walk-ins welcome.Childcare available by reservation.
