AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT : COURTNEY FOSTER
Courtney is new to running and learning the ins and outs by getting involved in the running community. She started running and got healthy after losing her second child to a stillbirth. Instead of letting the grief be self destructive, she decided to find a healthy way to grieve. Through healthy eating, running, and strength training she was able to shed pounds and move forward with her life in a healthy way. Her love for running started on a snowy Monday night in January when she joined Lou's New Runners Class. She hasn't stopped running and helps out with Lou's class to encourage new runners. Within one year from starting to run, she has been able to finish a half marathon, start training for a marathon, and lead a group run with the track club.
Outreach: Courtney loves meeting runners through volunteering at races, promoting KCTC at health fairs, and helping with social media for the track club. Courtney also leads a Saturday Group Run in Lee's Summit. Running Goals: Finish a marathon and run Hood To Coast. Favorite Race Distance: 15K
