Keep Your Job Search Going This Summer!
If you’re looking for work and you think taking the summer off from your job search is a good idea, think again. According to Patty Coffey , a partner at one of the largest recruitment firms in the Northeast, the perception that companies cut back hiring during the summer is a myth. In fact, says Ms. Coffey, they fill positions at the same — if not an increased — pace during the hottest months of the year.
While the common wisdom in the past was that summer was not a good time to look for work, today’s job market has changed dramatically. Even during the summer there are plenty of job openings as well as contract-to-hire opportunities, so take advantage of the fact that other job seekers are taking the summer off!

Avoid Mistakes that Make a Bad Impression in your Job Interview
After all the time and effort you put into your job search, you want to make the best impression you can when interviewing for a job. However, sometimes no matter how much you prepare, mistakes can still happen during the interview process. As writer Lindsey Harper Mac points out, interview blunders don’t always mean game over, but being aware of some of the most common mistakes before your interview can help you avoid creating an impression that is hard to overcome.

What to Do When a Job Interview Goes Wrong
Sometimes, no matter how much effort you put into preparing for an interview, something can go wrong. Perhaps you realize after the interview that an answer was totally off the mark or that you forgot to highlight a key aspect of your experience or skills. Or maybe you felt rushed by the interviewer and didn’t get to ask most of the questions you prepared. You may have been distracted by a personal issue and not shown enough energy or enthusiasm.
Whatever the reasons for your interview missteps, career experts agree that you can recover from a bad interview and be better prepared to nail the next one.
