Keeping Families Close
Ronald McDonald House Charities © of Central Ohio
Celebrating 35 years of service!

On March 17th, 2017 Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio will have been serving families of seriously ill children for 35 years.  We have provided more than just a place to stay for families all over the world for more than 3 decades.  In celebration of our 35th anniversary we'd like to thank all of those who have helped us along the way, and highlight some individuals who have been with us from the beginning.

The AT&T Pioneers (both retired and active) have been volunteering at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio since we opened our doors 35 years ago.  Their journey began as a volunteer project many years ago but has turned into a tradition that is eagerly awaited by both its members and the family and staff at RMHC every couple of weeks.  This group spends two weekends each month cooking meals and serving RMHC families.

Linda McCreary says "cooking a meal at RMHC makes her smile, and their spaghetti dinners make the residents at the house happy, too."  However, it's not just a "meal" these incredible people are cooking - it's a friendship, a bond, a donation of food, a taste of home, and a light in the lives of those who needs it most that is established and renewed with every visit.

The AT&T Pioneer members say there is no other project as "rewarding and fun" as volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, and we happen to agree.  We are so appreciative of this generous group that took the first leap 35 years ago towards keeping families close.  The tradition has continued and we know that as the years go on, the Pioneers' passion for serving will grow with ours and they will be our lifelong partners,

The originators of this group were Bob Berwanger, Tony Petrozzi, Bill Weidinger, Larry Rhea, Wayne Pfautsch, and Leo Kraus.  There have been many members in between as the years have passed and we are grateful for each of them. The current crew members include Linda McCreary, Bill Brown, Jake & Barb Kilbarger, Jeanne Frankenberg, Donna & Jerry Carrell, Pat Turner, Jean Macnealy, Mariah Myers, John & Patti Scharf, Dick Sheets, and Sue Schreiber.
