Town Audit Shows Successful Year!

Administrator Hamilton announced at a recent Town Council meeting that the final audit for the Town indicates that significant changes in creating stringent policies and determining a strong path forward are attributed to Finance Director Jason Parmelee and his team of finance professionals.

In his presentation Mr. Parmelee gave credit to the team as well as his renewed since of commitment to the financial security of Town finances.

Parmelee's pension reporting responsibilities indicated that North Smithfield is one of the few communities in the State with a positive bottom line net position. That pension balance is in addition to adding $1.2 million surplus to the Town and School fund balances. This, in comparison to last year when no additional funds were added.

Hamilton praised the devotion of all Town staff for another successful year.
