NSHS Tennis Courts Under Renovation

NSHS Tennis Courts located on Grange Road are closed for renovations and are due to reopen on Friday, June 17th.
Paving on Main Street in Slatersville

RIDOT will be out tomorrow, Thursday, June 17th, on Main Street in Slatersville to pave the area in which they have been working the past 2 weeks. 
Calling All Artisans

The Town of North Smithfield Summer Concert Series begins in July. As an added feature, this year, artisans of all kinds are invited to set up a table and offer their crafts to the concert-goers on the Common.
If you are a local artisan and would like to come for one or all 7 concerts, please reach out to Tabatha Dube at [email protected] or 767-2200 ext. 301 for more information.

Concerts are sponsored by Navigant Credit Union, Waterson Terminal Services, The North Smithfield Prevention Coalition, The Residences at Slatersville Mill, and Walgreens. 
Ongoing Superfund Monitoring Near Pound Hill Road - L&RR Site
Beginning the week of June 13th

Residents may see the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Woodward and Curran performing wetland and ecological surveys and sampling but no heavy equipment or drilling will be happening before the end of June.
This is part of the ongoing process to monitor wells in the L&RR Superfund site area by the EPA to ensure that the site remains on track with remediation efforts.

NS Receives Positive Bond Rating From Moody's

After weathering tumultuous financial times, Administrator Paulette Hamilton is proud to announce that The Town of North Smithfield just received the latest positive credit opinion from Moody's Investor Service. Moody's has assigned Aa2 Bond rating to North Smithfield's bonds. The Aa2 rating reflects the town's stable financial position, above average income levels, and elevated but manageable debt levels. The rating also factors in the town's residential tax base that is smaller than typical for the rating category.

Residents are invited to hear Cumberland Farms engineering comments on the proposed reconstruction of the Victory Highway site.  
The plans are for an expanded store, as Cumberland Farms has purchased the land near the current store, to provide a larger, more efficient location in the near future.  The expansion is part of a number of projects that are taking place in the Slatersville Plaza area.
