Kindergarten on
Patrol
By: Eve Levi
Captain Barbara Steinberg, from the Paramus Police Department, visited the Kindergarten class as a part of safety week. She talked to the class about being safe at school, home and outside of the house. She taught them to shout "fire" instead of help if you are in danger and to tell their parents not to text or talk on the phone while driving, amongst many other safety tips. The children were fascinated by all the equipment on her utility belt!

Veteran's Day
By Amy Silna Shafron
Albert Nahum, our visiting Veteran of the Day, is one of a rapidly diminishing number of people who can call themselves World War II veterans. Drafted in 1943 at the age of 18 he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1945 upon graduation from Fort Sill OCS. He was stationed in Germany 1945 to 1946 and after three and a half years of active duty he entered the Army Reserves in which he served as a Major until 1968. Thereafter he remained part of the retired reserve until 1985 when he received his official retirement. His only love that he places above his country and the armed services is his family of four children, twelve grandchildren (including current 8th grader Mandy), but especially his dear wife Gloria who passed away in September after over sixty five years of marriage.

Second Grade Humash Ceremony
By Etty Vaknin
Mazal Tov to Kitah Bet on a wonderful Chumash Ceremony! I am so proud of them. For the last few weeks we worked so hard singing, dancing and davening and then it all came together last Thursday. The children were so enthusiastic in their tefilot and it was lovely to see them dancing and singing in Hebrew. They are now ready to be called to the Torah every Monday and Thursday, because that's what this is all about! Now, we are about to study Bereishit - Creation.

The kindergartens were learning about nutrition and eating the right foods. In science lab we tested the different types of juices to see which one has the most vitamin C. It was orange juice!
