We are one world with many voices. When we listen to each other and work together, our voices are powerful instruments that can heal and lift each other up. Many times louder voices can drown out the quieter, especially those who are used to feeling overlooked. Now more than ever, it is important for us all to learn to listen and appreciate all the different voices that make up our communities.
Sayville Congregational UCC and Serious Fun After School are collaborating with BEAT Global to offer children ages 8-16 an engaging and high energy workshop that uses beat boxing and lyrical composition (MC/rap, spoken word, poetry, prose) to help children find their voice. Children will listen and respond to each other, improvise songs, beatbox and MC/rap in collaboration with their peers to celebrate the diversity of our community.
