Hello from Washington, D.C!
After 150+ explorations into different rentable Sunday worship space, we’re so excited to share that our church found a home for this year at the
International Spy Museum
in downtown Washington, D.C! The space is in the
heart of the city
, across the street from the
Smithsonian American Art Museum and the
National Portrait Gallery. In God’s kindness, we have received an
80% discount on the space. It is accessible, highly visible, and unique. We're so thankful!

I am often asked to give to good causes that support Christian work in the U.S. and abroad. While I give to some, like you I do not have the capacity to give to all. Additionally, I don’t always know the person well enough or have a heart for their particular endeavor. If you are receiving this email, you do know me, and I desire you to have a heart for this endeavor (Washington, D.C.). Will you right now please become a financial supporter of my work in Washington, D.C.? Here’s
why you should do this:

1.
D.C. is extremely difficult "soil"
Imagine you graduated from a State college. Now imagine trying to get your college professors to attend a basic weekly worship service and get involved with church life. Seems pretty difficult? Impossible? Yep, because they have busy schedules, agendas, worldviews, and their very purpose for being on campus was more likely than not to be involved with your church. Same goes here.

2.
We already have real results
Despite the difficulties, "
with God nothing is impossible." I'm positive our time doesn't go to sluggishness, unnecessary side projects & travel, and idleness. I - and my team work with unity, purpose, and faithful dependence upon God. While “
God gives the growth,” we have worked extremely hard to assure results (fruit). We are reaching people, having weekly Bible studies and prayer groups in the city, running five outreach groups, hosting weekly events, holding services, and have a jam-packed summer of
people-work. We will continue to work hard.

3.
This region of the world is uber-strategic
Leaders matter. For better or for worse – they determine what we represent as a society, who we are as a people, and where we are going as a nation. A relatively small number of leaders are shaping American culture. The circles they inhabit are almost devoid of Christian influence. By God’s grace, we have been able to enter these circles in increasing frequency. We have seen change and we have stories.
|
|
4.
We have accessibility
My team and I already have access to lots of people in all different walks of life here. We are not a group of 30 college students.
We are diverse – not only in skin color, but in age, socioeconomically, vocationally, and perspectives.
We are unusually united - we realize that God has placed us in the lives of others for a purpose – his love and redemption.

5.
D.C. is extremely expensive
Washington is ranked the #1 most expensive place to live in the U.S. One of our pastor's apartments is around 500 sq ft and costs around $2.2K a month. The other pays $2.7K for 800 sq ft. With that said,
rent for our future church meeting space averages around $2.9K a month. This is where we need help. We most definitely need your support this year as we struggle with startup costs in order to continue growing and influencing people with the gospel of Christ.
|
|
We need you today to start sacrificially giving to this ministry to help us afford the start-up costs of our new meeting space until the end of the year. Today, will you start giving $25, $50, or $100 a month until the end of the year?
It will make all the difference.

The fruitfulness of King’s Church is ultimately God’s work in us. The Psalmist says
“Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.” While we recognize that fruitfulness comes from God, we, like the Apostle Paul desire to “
work harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.” As we seek to be faithful to God in all things, we also work extremely hard for fruitfulness (results). We celebrate that God is at work in D.C. through King’s Church and our labors are not in vain.
