The Opening Act

First Vice President Jeff Condit filled in for Club President Tom Hanson in calling the assembly to order for the March 6th meeting.

Jonathan Turner provided the entertainment.

There were several announcements presented on the floor.  First, Chris Elsberg reminded us of the First Day Project.  She announced that the first meeting would be held at the district administration building at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 7th.

Liz Loveless announced that there were eight club members who have been exhaustively training for the bowling tournament in Geneseo.

The Andich's, back from their cruise, came back to beat the drum for Rose Day.  Apparently, there already over 400 dozen accounted for.

Steve Schroeder announced that the next interclub would be held March 15th in Kewanee.

In Fun and Fellowship, the Kartel won the $4.00 prize as well as the ceremonial bottle of wine, a delightful and inauspicious container of Vie Des Castrol.

The Feature Attraction

The program was given by none other than Mr. Quad City Kiwanis, Mark Peterson.  His presentation focused on the Spastic Paralysis Research Foundation.  He began by giving some background on his business life as well as his considerable Kiwanis service.  He addressed the purpose of establishing the Foundation and its objective of working to eradicate Spastic Paralysis.  He presented information on how funds are accumulated from contributions, fund raising events, investments and endowment transfers.
Upcoming Programs

March 13th      David Levin, State of the Real Estate Market
March 20th      Tell Papanikolaou, Elder Abuse
March 27th      Lora Adams, Blackbox Theatre, Moline
