LAST CHANCE for Dining Tour Books. These makes great gifts.  Cost is $35, with $10 coming back to the club, and this can be billed to your account.  We will return any unsold books at the end of the month.
L ike us on Facebook!  Make sure to check out our Facebook page. Search for Rock Island Kiwanis Club, and like us!  Make sure to tell your friends and colleagues to like our page also. It's a great way to get the word out about all the good work we do!

The Opening Act

The return of the world famous Kiwanis Rosettes was of course the highlight of the meeting.

This means that Rose season is officially here.  We have two goals this year - to reach 1100 dozen in total sales, and to provide roses to every nursing home resident in Rock Island. So whether you wish to sponsor roses for these residents, or sell roses to your friends and colleagues, we need your help to reach this goal.  Steve and Marla Andich are our Rose Chairs this year.  Please reach out to them, or stop by a meeting to get your order forms.  It's on!

The Feature Attraction

The program was given by Club members Julie Derrer, Chris Elsberg, and Gene Smith, who discussed three of our largest activities - Coats for Kids, the First Day Fund, and the Midwest Food Bank.  These projects affect the lives of hundreds of families in the Quad Cities, with well over $1.2 million in economic impact every single year.
