The Opening Act

The Club President, Chris Elsberg, called the meeting of August 1st to order. Jonathan Turner once again provided the entertainment with some of his favorite August Fool's Day repertoire.
Chris gave us the good news that all of the invoices have been prepared and are available for members of the club, so pick them up at a meeting, if possible, to save postage.
Julie gave us the last word on Birdies for Charity, and it looks like we might just miss our $4,000 goal. However, there is still the possibility of hitting that mark in a variety of ways.
If you find that you might have some free time and would be interested in joining Kiwanians as marshals at the John Deere Classic next week, please get ahold of Kevin.
Joan again brought up the matter of the District Convention coming up for which our club will be participating in the county carnival. Apparently, there is still a need for pool noodles, so if you have any in your garage or basement, let Joan know. Please do not boil them before you loan them to her.
On the First Day Fund, help is needed in loading, unloading, transferring, hauling, and depositing. Contact Chris Elsberg if you can assist.
The next food distribution day will be August 24. If lifting is your game, here is a good chance for you.
The announcement was again made that concerning Project Eliminate. Dinner will be held at 5 p.m. at Antonella's on August 4.
      Song leaders are needed.

The Feature Attraction

The Program was given by Tess Nagle of NAMI. She gave the mission of NAMI to educate, advocate, and support. The organization serves as a grass roots effort to bring mental health to the attention of the community. This organization is peer directed and peer driven.
