The Opening Act

In the absence of the Club President, Chris Elsberg, First Vice President, Tom Hanson, called the meeting of July 18, 2016 to order.
There were several announcements made. The first concerned the NAMI Walk which the editor has confirmed is to be held September 24th.
On Birdies for Charity, Julie informed us that we are closing in on our goal.
The Division Golf Outing is Wednesday of this week. If you are interested in cheering our team on to victory or if you are just interested in having an afternoon beer, call Joe Robb.
We were again reminded of our participation for the District Convention in which our Club will be handling the County carnival.
Fun and Fellowship: The preliminary prize was graciously donated back to the Club. The grand prize of a bottle of Chateau Listerine was won by a consistent winner, Dick Timmer.

The Feature Attraction

The program was given by Karie Gelles, Development Director for Quad City Arts. She discussed the background of the organization, its mission, and its various areas of service and programs. These included the Visiting Artists Series, various galleries and public arts presentations, Metro Arts Youth program, Community Art Projects, and its top, most well-known program, Festival of Trees.
