The Opening Act

Club President Chris Elsberg called the meeting of July 25 to order.

Providing the entertainment was Jonathan Turner and the Uber dancers.

There were a number of announcements for the Club. On Birdies for Charity, the Club is inching closer to its $4,000 goal with $3,555 already accumulated. If we don't want to find out what Julie's mean streak can look like, let's get those Birdie pledges in.
We were also reminded about the Club's anticipated carnival participation. Prizes and clown acts are welcome.
On August 4, there will be a District Golf Outing and Palmer Hills. Taking the lead on this will be Mark Peterson of the Moline Club.
Adam Bain gave us an update on the bags tournament, and he and his crew will begin taking a vertical climb on this.
Jen informed the gathering that she would welcome any ideas that members might have for programs.
Also on August 4, there will be a dinner to be presented by the Eliminate Team Leaders in Illinois.
As for the Division 17 golf outing, Joe and Steve proudly shared with the Membership that all players showed up.
Guests included an inter-club from Clinton, Iowa.
In fun and fellowship, the $3 preliminary prize went to the cartel via Gary Miner. The grand prize of a smoking hot chardonnay went to Gary Johnson.

The Feature Attraction

The program was presented by Kim Findlay, the CEO of the Putnam Museum. By way of introduction, she presented some of the positions she has assumed with various not-for-profit organizations over the past several years. She gave some history about the Putnam, explaining that the new building was constructed in 1963 with several extensions having been constructed since then. Over the course of time, the popularity of the Putnam has grown dramatically to the point that it has become a destination point in and of itself. Kim suggested that it could well benefit from the anticipated rail service across Illinois. The museum is responsible for providing 213 jobs in that community with an economic impact of approximately $6.6 million. Kim focused the balance of her presentation on development.
