I am being asked over and over again, what is your great need? Here is my answer there are two, Prayer is first. Praying for neighbors who have lost everything, for those who are concerned for their future, for those who confused, and those who are lost. The second thing is much like the first----HOPE!
The outpouring to our community has been overwhelming. Thank you!!! Neighborhoods are being cleaned up and will continue to need to be cleaned. The next step is the rebuilding. Rebuilding houses and rebuilding lives.
At Kokomo Urban Outreach our focus will be on rebuilding lives and families. We work on the streets and the reoccurring concern that the clock has stopped in many home, the "time clock". Many families not only lost their "stuff" they are losing ho
urs at work. Most of the families we work with are low income. Every hour missed is less money. We are working with families right now, to provide basic needs. But two weeks from now when the paycheck is short, the need will be greater. We have put together a plan that we are calling Faith in Action. We are receiving funds to hire those who have" lost hours" to work in clean up and other areas of the Outreach. We are hiring temporary workers to help them get back on their feet. The money you give to KUO Faith in Action Fund is to provide basic needs, clean up, but more importantly financial help to families who need it now. This is not a give away or grant or loan this is work today get paid today.

Below is a picture of one of our office areas. The only thing left on the wall is the stopped clock and the word hope. For many the clock has stopped but with your help we can give them HOPE that it will start again.
