  Kol Ramah, Week 1
A Fanan Start to Summer!

The Word of the Summer Is...

Fanan! Fanan means awesome and our first week was just that. Chanichim (campers) are getting to know their counselors, meeting new friends, enjoying all of the incredible programs at camp, and preparing for Zimriyah. As we go to press, we are eagerly preparing for Shishi Al Ha'Migrash, our weekly Friday Shabbat celebration. Wishing our Ramah family a Shabbat Shalom!

Ma Nishma? Fanan!
Important Dates
  Yom Yisrael is this Thursday!

Campers are invited to wear blue and white or an Israeli t-shirt for our annual celebration. Please do not buy anything new.

General Camp News
Welcoming Mishlachat
Every summer we welcome an exceptional mishlachat to our Ramah Nyack family. Our staff from Israel work in all areas of camp. They share their passion for Israel, and their excitement spills onto the Migrash each day. This year we have sixty shlichim, our largest group ever. Click here or on the image above to watch a video of our Mishlachat arriving in camp.

Teva at Ramah Nyack

Each day, camp offers new and exciting ways for our chanichim to experience the variety of teva (nature) and wildlife around camp. In the past four days, we've collected crayfish and frogs from the stream behind the Teva house. Some campers found a crayfish with one claw. Of course, all animals in our Teva home  are returned to  their natural habitat before Shabbat.

Important Procedures

Your children are having so much fun here that we encourage you to keep them in camp until the regular dismissal time. We understand that there are extenuating circumstances that occasionally require you to pick up your child early. If so, please follow these procedures:

  • Your child may be picked up by a parent or by an authorized adult previously designated in your CampMinder account. For any changes, please email travel@ramahnyack.org.
  • Please call camp at (845) 358-6240 or email travel@ramahnyack.org before noon on the day of the change and let us know what time you will be picking up your child. The office staff will notify your child's counselor and bus driver of the revised dismissal plans.
  • Upon your arrival for early dismissal, please park in the Gould parking lot (across from the entrance to Nyack High School). Please obtain a visitor's pass from our security staff and proceed to the camp office where you will meet your child and sign him or her out. Please do not take your child out of camp without signing out.
  • All early pick-ups must take place BEFORE 3:30 p.m. After 3:30 p.m., pick-ups will be carpool pick-ups in the Gould parking lot at regular dismissal.
