Mitzvot Around Camp

On any given day, our chanichim perform mitzvot around camp and in our surrounding community. Each edah has engaged in g'milut chasadim (acts of loving kindness) to beautify camp and help the people around us. Campers have been showing their appreciation for the hard work of our support staff, donating goods to a food pantry, collecting tzedakah for those in need, and more. We are so proud of the mitzvot our campers do each day!

Camp News
Ramah Outdoors
Ramah Outdoors specialty camp had an active and busy week of hiking, trail exploration, fire building, fishing, shelter building, and an overnight camping trip in Harriman State Park--the highlight of our week! Guided by Saul Zebovitz, an Eagle Scout and experienced outdoorsman, along with our Ramah Outdoors staff, our campers gained confidence while developing their outdoors skills.
Swimming, Swimming
Our campers have made fantastic progress during instructional swim. Our staff of 36 lifeguards guide our chanichim through our accredited American Red Cross instructional program. We love watching all chanichim, from our emerging swimmers to our more experienced swimmers, practice basic water safety, test their endurance, try various swim strokes, and work on diving in our four heated pools. You might even catch us doing our migrash dances in the water! Click here or on the image above to check out video highlights of swim at camp.
Gifts in Honor of your Children's Counselors
If you would like to acknowledge your child(ren)'s counselors or other staff members in a meaningful way, please consider a donation in their honor to Ramah Day Camp in Nyack.

Staff members will receive beautiful Rosh Hashanah e-cards, containing the names of campers and families who recognized their work. If you have already made a donation in honor of your child(ren)'s counselors, your names will be included.

To donate, please click on the name of your child(ren)'s edah listed below. Todah rabah!

The Ramah Sports Academy (RSA), the newest Ramah overnight camp, will open next summer! The mission of RSA is to provide a premier sports program that empowers campers to achieve their greatest potential as confident athletes, and that fosters increased Jewish pride and a love for Jewish life and Israel. RSA is located on the beautiful campus of Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut, approximately 1.5 hours from NYC and 2.5 hours from Boston.  Click here to request more information, or contact Yoni Shear, camp director, at  yoni@campramah.org.

"Book and a Buck"
Please help us with our book drive supporting Operation Paperback, which provides books for men and women deployed in the US armed services so they can read a story aloud to their children via webcam. We encourage each camper to bring in one children's paperback book and $1 to support this cause.
